Brussel Sprouts w/ balsamic garlic red pepper flakes

This is a fast and easy way to enjoy vegetables when I don't have extra bacon jam to toss in.  I like how these roasts in the air fryer without having to use my regular oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Brussel sprouts
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 t BBQ rub (Harcore Carnivore Black)
  • 3 T honey
  • 1 T shoyu
  • 1 T balsamic vinegar
  • 1 - 2 T minced garlic
  • 1/4 t crushed red pepper flakes, more for added kick, crushed in mortar and pestle

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400F.
  2. Wash Brussel sprouts, cut the ends and cut in half, set in a bowl.
  3. Add olive oil, BBQ rub to bowl and toss evenly.
  4. Transfer to a silicone lined baking pan and roast about 25 minutes, tossing halfway through.
  5. In a saucepan add honey, shoyu, balsamic vinegar, garlic and red pepper flakes over med heat.
  6. Simmer about 5 minutes to thicken.
  7. Return cooked Brussel sprouts to bowl, pour glaze over and toss.
  8. Enjoy.
