Air Fryer Onion Rings

Air frying makes eating onion rings feel healthy since it's not deep fried and I can use seasonings I have on hand from BBQ rubs to veggie sprinkles.  Best part is it's easy for a single serving or portion control!

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, sliced thin with a mandolin
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Favorite seasoning like BBQ rubs or veggie sprinkles
  • Tallow or fat that can handle high heat

Directions

  1. Spread a thin layer of parmesan cheese on a silicone mat
  2. Add onions with minimal overlap
  3. Add seasoning
  4. Drizzle lightly with tallow 
  5. Bake at 390F about 25 minutes, check at 20 minutes to make sure the edges don’t get burnt

I like the edges crispy with a soft onion bite
