Sesame Spinach

Sometimes a simple side dish completes a meal like this sesame spinach.  I had a friend give me shishito peppers that I threw on the smoker tossed in the same sauce - yum!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds baby spinach leaves
  • 2 1/2 T sesame seeds
  • 4 1/2 t shoyu
  • 4 1/2 t sesame oil
  • 2-3 minced garlic cloves

Directions

  1. Bring a pot of water to boil
  2. Blanche spinach 2-3 minutes
  3. Drain
  4. Cool
  5. Squeeze water out
  6. Chop spinach
  7. Make the sauce with remaining ingredients and pour over spinach
  8. Enjoy chilled or room temperature, also good in sushi rolls
