Cantonese Microwave Pork Hash Titus Chan

This is comfort food dish that is done in the microwave!  I love how Titus Chan stayed current with new cooking approaches in the 1970's when the technology was new at the time.  It's still relevant in 2025 and is heavy on flavor, just add rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground pork
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 can bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 2 T shoyu
  • 2 T oyster sauce
  • 1 1/2 T sesame oil
  • 1/2 T chili sesame oil
  • 2 T cornstarch
  • 1 T monk fruit
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 firm tofu block, cubed

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients EXCEPT tofu
  2. Place in a microwaveable dish
  3. Microwave 5 minutes on high
  4. Remove, mix and cook another 5 minutes
  5. Remove, mix and add cubed tofu, cook 2 minutes
  6. Mix and serve over rice
