Mom's Mapo Tofu
There are many variations of this dish because it comes together quickly with most pantry and refrigerator items. What I enjoy about cooking is each recipe can be customized to taste, recipes are just the foundation to determine what flavors you enjoy.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 T minced garlic Garlic Ice Cube / Helpful Hacks | Cooking with Aloha, Texas Style (cooking-with-aloha-texas-style.com)
- 1 T minced ginger Ginger Ice Cube / Helpful Hacks | Cooking with Aloha, Texas Style (cooking-with-aloha-texas-style.com)
- 2 t chili garlic sauce
- 3 T shoyu
- 2 C chicken broth
- 1 block firm tofu, cubed
- 4 t water
- 4 t cornstarch
- 2 t sesame oil
- Sesame seeds sprinkled for garnish
- Green onions chopped for garnish
Directions
- Heat a wok with a little oil on medium high heat
- Add pork and cook about 2-3 minutes.
- Add garlic, ginger, chili garlic sauce, shoyu, chicken broth and tofu.
- Bring to a boil and cook 2-3 minutes
- Mix cornstarch and water to make a paste and add to pan, cook until thickened
